「逐路細說台18線」闢建半世紀　阿里山公路譜傳奇 Sep 23rd 2013, 03:31 〔記者李鴻典╱台北報導〕阿里山是名聞遐邇的國際級觀光勝地，開放陸客之後更帶來不少觀光收益。然而，帶著觀光人潮從市區上山朝聖的，是大家所熟悉的阿里山公路。阿里山公路在全國公路網中編列為省道「台18線」，即早年所稱之「新中橫公路嘉義玉山線」，自1979年動工闢建，至1982年9月30日嘉義－阿里山段通車，至今已超過30年；往前追溯其開發歷史，更可遠溯至1950年代。
